Here's to fat hopes

You know, if you're really wondering what to get me for my birthday here's a little hint: WGS 2008.

Specifically a dinner with Ian Wright or one that's cooked by Curtis Stone. They only cost $248 each! And while you're at it, might as well throw in the Pierre Herme Culinary Masterclass too :)

But what am I saying? NO ONE'S going to pay that much for me to go. I can only hope that I get to attend at least one dinner at one World Gourmet Summit before I die.

Here's the website, for those of you interested: http://www.worldgourmetsummit.com/wgs2008/events.php

On another note, I am really looking forward to this year - not the 9 week attachment though - because of the WGS (which means I'll religiously be following review after review), the Beijing Olympics (hands down my favourite sporting event ever) and also the Singapore Grand Prix.

Exciting times lay ahead, indeed.

Edit @ 23 33: Crap. I'm now addicted to watching Youtube videos of The Crystal Maze, this really old game show that I used to love.

If music be the food of love

I was dead wrong about Adam Levine. How could I ever have thought him to be not sexy?

Anyway the concert was just okay. They are awesome live performers and I have a new-found love for "the gayest straight guy" (Halimah, 2008), so why wasn't it GREAT? Because it was way, way too short! It was less than 1.5 hours! Everyone was a little surprised when the lights came on cos though they bowed and everything, I didn't hear them say goodnight or thank you but Shah says they did so alright then.

Another turn-off was that the guitars were too loud at times. When I was complaining about it to Yen and Niths, Yen said, "I thought concerts were supposed to be loud?" Loud I can handle, but this was ear-piercing and on the verge of being eardrum-bursting probably.

I still enjoyed myself very much though, but think I would've rather paid RM288 or something to see BSB up close :)

Talking about concerts, another one just passed but I was too lazy to write about it. It was the annual CMB concert. Um, CMB stands for Cultural Management Board for those not living in Sheares. I'll let the photos do the talking yeah? I'm still too lazy to write about it. But one thing I learned though: admin work is a downright Pain in the Ass. Never again, I tell you. Next year is sit-in-one-corner-and-relax year.

The CMB. I'm proud of my subcommers; we really pulled out all stops. Thanks for spending all those nights doing things to attract people's attention.

With tired eyes, tired minds, tired souls, we slept.

Presenting the CMB t-shirt for 2008 :) i quite obviously did NOT design it. All credits go to the other publicity i/c, Yonglin. Models are Serene (girl who sat on curtain remote control) and Mat Not-Kool (boy who was in charge of aforementioned curtain remote control).

Oh ya, before Eng Hooi kills me, the photos above are from the Sheares Photocomm website.

Make way, money coming through!

Yay! I finally managed to get a tuition job!

Albeit, I'm going to tutor in Math and English, not exactly my favourite subjects to teach. I can still handle Math, but English? Truth be told, I don't even know where to start! I will just have to wing it and pray that they don't cotton on...

Anyway I plan to use the much-needed cash to travel at the end of the year. Li Shan will still be in Georgia then, so I'm hoping we can travel somewhere together. Oooh we can finally go on our road trip! Only, there's that teensy danger of being mugged or robbed or whatever. So maybe a road trip is out of the question...

Eh, but I need more money lah! What these people are paying me is most definitely not enough!

Damn you procrastination

What do the two pictures above have in common? Well duh, stress! That's right. I am officially stressed out. Blame it on my procrastination. This is another perfect example of it: I'm blogging instead of working on my case study. I absolutely hate with a passion all the admin crap that's got to be done so that RockFest publicity can be up on time. Not to mention handling the concert details and liaising with the T-shirt fellow.

I think I need a few hundred of these. Nice, pretty little stress balls that I can squeeze till they burst.

Actually they don't really work for me. What I really need is a yummylicious pint of Haagen Dazs Cookies n Cream.
